I currently reside in Santa Rosa, California, and attended Whitman College. I design experimental lessons to engage students. I enjoy discovering unique new methods of explaining and demonstrating various ideas, concepts, and topics. My life has been spent learning as well as teaching, which makes me feel very lucky as I highly value education. To me, there are very few things more rewarding than watching someone learn and grow as a person as well as a student. I offer tutoring services to children and teens ranging from 6 years old to 17 years old. Subjects in which I am able to assist include reading, writing, phonics, grammar and mechanics, literature, English language and composition, public speaking, math, science, Spanish, and ESL. Additionally, I help with PSAT, SAT, and ACT preparation as well as general test preparation, essay editing, and GED preparation. I love helping people who find themselves in difficult circumstances, which is one of the reasons why I truly enjoy tutoring so much. My interests and hobbies outside of work include hiking and backpacking, biking and running, reading and writing, and volleyball and soccer. Additionally, I am a certified Wilderness First Responder, which includes training in CPR and first aid.
