Education
I graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University (SDSU) in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Women's Studies and minors in social work and interdisciplinary studies. Beginning Fall 2016, I will be attending Cornell University to earn my Masters in Public Administration (MPA) with an emphasis in human rights and social justice.
Experience
I worked as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) Instructor for two years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in China, where I taught oral English and academic writing to 500+ Chinese university students. In addition to teaching, I also developed and facilitated TEFL sessions for local Chinese teachers and fellow volunteers. During my undergraduate career, I worked as a tutor in various capacities. I was a writing tutor at the SDSU Writing Center, where I assisted university students in developing their writing and editing skills and helped ESL students improve their written English proficiency. I was also an academic tutor for SDSU Student Athlete Support Services, where I tutored student athletes in various subjects including English, Spanish, writing, biology, and social sciences.

Hobbies
It wasn't until I graduated college and began teaching that I realized how much I love learning. I constantly strive to understand how other people experience the world, whether listening to educational podcasts or reading historical narratives. I also love hiking, board games, and TV shows with laugh tracks.
